9ish Miler - I ROCK!
As much as I was dreading it, I went out on week 4's long run of the Higdon program - 9 miles. I definitely haven;t done all of the training required to even deserve to be running the week 4 portion, but that's my own damn fault and I have to start somewhere...I have to start feeling like a runner. After last night's 5 miler (which is now posted with an official time of 58 minutes! My watch said 56...wtf), I set out at about 230 to run it and damn was it hard!? I originally started out running 12min and walking 2 just so I wouldn't get too tired, but that got all effed up when I ended up going hard and stopping at every freaking traffic light from here to Georgetown. I probably ended up walking like 1.7 miles in total, which is still good. I am HOPING and praying that the 5 miles less than 24 hours ago was a major contributor to my suckage, but I hate making excuses! The long and short of it was that I got the 9 in, I did it in 1:42, which is still less than a 12 min/mi pace and I am proud of myself. Tuesday I start week 5!!
